Wood and Strings Theatre
Wood & Strings Theatre is a national touring company offering extraordinary arts events in the art of the puppet. Theatre, interpreted with visually splendid articulated figures, brings the essence of the story to a new dimension. As a reference, they have performed at National Geographic Live! in Washington, DC, four consecutive years, to sold out audiences. They have also performed at the Detroit Institute of Art, Frist Museum in Nashville and recently they were featured at the International Puppetry Festival among groups from France, Italy, and Germany.
In addition to performances, the company offers artist-in-residence programs of varying lengths for students or families, in puppetry arts. We offer three services in one touring day that consists of any combination of performances and workshops. The TN Arts Commission has an ABC grant due August 29, 2008 and Touring Arts Grants available through out the year, that provide funds specifically earmarked to bring in Tennessee artist companies. We would be glad to provide assistance with the grant.
