Tullahoma Fine Arts Plans New Website For 2012
Just In Time For The End Of The World
After losing access to their former website at www.tullahomafinearts.org, Tullahoma Fine Arts Center plans to relocate its web presence to www.tullahomafineartscenter.org. The move will be made during January 2012, according to Becky Shelton, TFAC staff member.
Shelton hopes the resurrected site will help to keep members and the public informed about the center’s events and programs.
Tullahoma's original website, created in 1999 with a $2000 grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, was scrapped when a new board was elected in September, 2010. A new website was developed, but updates to tullahomafinearts.org ceased in January, 2011.
In November the website's hosting was not renewed, and the site was suspended. According to Shelton, at the same time the board members lost access to their email accounts.
According to a Whois search, the domain name tullahomafinearts.org is registered to Kevin Farris, a former board member, and not the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center.
With the center's monthly newsletter discontinued since 2010, and the website unused, TFAC has relied on a Facebook page to disseminate information about its activities and programs.
Tullahoma Fine Arts Center Loses Site
Service for the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center website at http://tullahomafinearts.org was suspended today (November 26, 2011). The domain name registration lapsed on November 19.
The center now relies on getting center information out to its members and the public through the Facebook social media site.
In September, new leadership took over the center after the ouster of Troy McFarland as president and executive director. But the center’s website was apparently abandoned much earlier. It was last updated in January. And until last night, the site still promoted the November 2010 exhibit by Tommy Ellis.
The center’s site was originally created in 1999 with a $2000 grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
