TULLAHOMA FINE ARTS CENTER

AWS Watercolor Show At Tullahoma

Tullahoma Excluded From 2013 American Watercolor Society Travel Schedule

TFAC GalleryThe American Watercolor Society's 2012 traveling exhibition is available for viewing today at the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center.

Normally the center is open only three days a week, but for this exhibit TFAC has extended its hours of operation. The center will be open from 9AM to 5PM, Tuesday through Friday, and 10AM to 4PM on Saturdays.

The center "strongly encourages" a $10 donation per person for the show. Exhibition catalogues are available for $20.

Tullahoma serves as the final stop for the 145th AWS travel show, featuring winners from last year's competition.

According to AWS information, the exhibit runs through May 12.

Winners for the 145th Annual International Exhibition were chosen in February, 2012.

This may be the last chance for Tullahoma residents to view an AWS show without taking a trip out-of-state.

TFAC has hosted the AWS's travel exhibition for a number of years, but is not included in the schedule for the 2013 to 2014 AWS Traveling Exhibition. The 146th show opens May 4 at the Mooresville Artist Guild in Mooresville, North Carolina, and will remain on view until June 9, according to the schedule posted on the AWS website. Admission is free at the Mooresville show.

The 146th show will have fewer stops than in previous years. The remaining schedule is July 1 to August 17, Middletown Arts Center in Middletown, Ohio; September 3 to November 3, Springfield Regional Arts Council, Springfield, Missouri; December 6 to February 15, 2014, Alexandria Museum of Art, Alexandria, Louisiana; and March 3 to March 30, 2014, Art Center Manatee, Bradenton, Florida.
