Nominations Sought For New Arts Awards

Elders in the Arts Awards: Deadline February 28

Life is short, and we have only a certain amount of time to show the elders in our life that we "noticed" what they have done, and created, and nurtured in hopes that each generation will carry on in their footsteps.

Please think about those aged 65 and over who have served as volunteers and who have gone over and above the call of duty to help ensure that our local Arts and Civic Centers and Theatrical Groups have survived, and prospered in preserving the ability to keep this enriching activity and hobby available for those in our small communities of Manchester, Tullahoma and Coffee County.   Do not forget about those who work diligently behind the scenes, sight-unseen, but equally notorious.   Please consider those who are currently heavily active as well as those who were previously very active but have since retired.

To submit your nominee, please compose a 100 to 200 word Essay submitted by the deadline of February 28 with a title of your choosing describing your nominee with a cover page with following pieces of information at the top:

1.  About the Nominee: Name, Address, Phone Number and Email address

2.  About you, the nominator:  Name, Address, Phone Number and Email address (in case we have any questions.)

3.  If you want us to keep your name nominator as anonymous, please indicate so.

4.  Email your submission to Annieflan@charter.net

Submission of your nomination grants permission to use and publish your Essay or quotes from your essay in honoring these people.  This also grants permission to edit your essay for grammatical and or spelling errors for use in re-publishing.

Method of "honoring" to be announced at a later date.  If you would like to volunteer to serve on a committee for this project, please contact me privately at annieflan@charter.net.   This is aimed at honoring those who have volunteered and received no, or little, financial compensation for their contribution at the following 4 non profit organizations: Manchester Arts Center, Millennium Repertory Company, South Jackson Civic Center, and Tullahoma's Community Playhouse, Inc.
