Winter's ChildNative of Middle Tennessee

First major art award came at age ten when an entry in the nationwide competition sponsored by Millie The Model comic book.

During high school many awards were granted for artistic achievement, including a scholarship for summer classes at the University of Kansas.

Art education continued at various schools and institutes, including Watkins Institute of Nashville, Joseph Orze of MTSU, Stan Barrett of University of Sewanee, Alan Jones and John Duke just to name a few. In addition to art schools, Courses at Winnona for the study of photography, after which this artist owned a photography studio and frame shop for several years. The awards were many in this art form, as well as photographing personalities including Princess Grace of Monaco. One of the most prestigious awards came when Eastman Kodak Company choose two of my photos to hang in the Kodak Pavilion at the 1964-65 Worlds Fair in New York. I was the only woman photographer in Tennessee to receive this honor and the only person to have two works chosen out of three thousand entries nationwide. International honors include five works in the Traveling Loan Exhibit in Europe.

Art-Mine invited me to join the early Internet artist through entry in SoHo competition as well as Period Gallery of Omaha for other Internet exposure. Received Winsor & Newton Award 2006 and the Jack Richeson Award 2009.

Membership in several art guilds include the prestigious Degas Pastel Society of New Orleans. In addition to exhibiting worldwide, I teach on occasion, give lectures, judges art shows and exhibits solo.
