Combined: Watercolors And Models
Work of Tommy Ellis at Tullahoma Fine Arts Center
A passion for wargaming led Watercolorist Tommy Ellis to combine his love of art with the creation of realistic models, ranging from prehistoric monsters to army vehicles.
Ellis is a master model builder, who works for companies in the model industry, as well as museums and traveling exhibits. His work is in collections throughout the country, as well as international ones.
Self-taught, Ellis works in several mediums. He specializes in multi-layered watercolors using all but forgotten "Old English" techniques. This allows watercolors to take on the look of oils and acrylics.
